SCARC Membership Information

Benefits

Joining the South County Amateur Radio Club (SCARC) is a fantastic way to immerse yourself in the world of radio communication. Whether you are a local resident or joining us from across the country via web conferencing, our community is built on a shared passion for technical learning and service.

The Membership Question page is the best place to reach out if you have any questions before applying.

Why Join SCARC?

  • Exclusive Resources: Members gain access to a private section in Groups.io, featuring an archive of past newsletters, meeting minutes, and group discussions.
  • Educational Content: Watch past technical presentations and participate in deep-dive discussions on radio theory and equipment.
  • Special Drawings: Members in good standing are eligible for exclusive prize drawings held during our business meetings.
  • National Community: While we support several local events, we have members nationwide who stay active through our online social and business meetings.

No License Required

You do not need to be a licensed amateur radio operator to join our club. We welcome anyone interested in the hobby, from curious beginners to seasoned engineers. Joining is a great first step toward learning the material needed for your first license!

How to Become a Member

  1. Submit Your Application: Fill out the membership application form.
  2. Introduce Yourself: We want to get to know you! New applications are reviewed and voted on once the applicant has introduced themselves during one of our meetings.
