Somerset County Repeaters & AllStarLink Network
Somerset County Amateur Radio Club — K3SMT
● AllStarLink Hub & Repeater Network ActiveThe club owns and supports both analog and digital repeaters throughout the county for your use and enjoyment. We are in the process of connecting several of our analog repeaters to AllStarLink, to expand local coverage. Three of our repeaters use Multi-Mode Digital Voice Modems (MMDVM) to support versatile digital modes.
Through these digital systems, you can access all Brandmeister talkgroups, numerous Yaesu System Fusion reflectors, and various D-STAR reflectors, including XLX.
Operating Guidelines
- Feel free to link: Connect to your preferred talkgroups, rooms, or reflectors while operating.
- Restore defaults: Return the repeater to its default settings and static talkgroups once you finish your QSOs.
- Show courtesy: Resetting the equipment ensures the network remains ready and predictable for the next operator.

About AllStarLink in Somerset County
AllStarLink (ASL) is a high-fidelity Voice over IP (VoIP) network built on the open-source Asterisk PBX platform. Unlike traditional analog RF repeaters that are limited by terrain and line-of-sight distance, AllStarLink allows radio repeaters and remote base stations to seamlessly connect over the internet.
In Somerset County, K3SMT uses AllStarLink to bridge geographically separated repeaters across varying terrain. By routing audio through our central system hub, operators can key up a local radio in one part of the county and simultaneously transmit across multiple linked repeater sites, creating a robust, county-wide communications footprint for everyday ragchews, emergency services, and community events.
EchoLink Integration: The K3SMT EchoLink, node 531974 is directly connected to our AllStarLink Hub (Node 692270), allowing licensed hams anywhere in the world to check into the local repeater network via smartphones, tablets, or computers.
Note: More AllStarLink nodes are planned to be added to the hub as the network continues to expand.
