K3SMT Repeater System (April 2006)

building1

Barry (n3bls) and Bill (kb3gun) have been doing some Spring Cleaning at the repeater building for the last couple of days, and it’s starting to look good. But, as we all know, it’s what’s on the inside that counts.

Scott (n3xcc) and Barry (n3bls) spent the past 2 weeks building a new repeater system for the SCARC. The new K3SMT Repeater went on the air Easter Sunday, 16 April 2006, and it’s sounding great. There are still a few gremlins to hunt down and kill yet, but for the most part, it’s done.

Below you will see some pictures of Scott and Barry building the new system, and some shots of the repeater and building.

I’ll add descriptions as I get the time. For now, “Welcome to the K3SMT Repeater System...”

If I learned anything during the one day I spent at Scotts, it’s that I don’t have the patience (or skill) to build repeaters for a living. (-Bill kb3gun)

Here is a photo of Scott doing the final test of the entire system before transporting it to the repeater site.
